FedEx is Closing its Canadian Retail Stores, Yet this Won't Affect Shipping with FedEx

After 32 years of doing business in Canada, FedEx is closing its 24 retail stores in the country. FedEx retail stores offer a range of business services including copying and printing, office supplies, sign making and packaging services. The retail stores also function as pick-up and drop-off sites for FedEx shipping.

The decision to exit the Canadian market will unfortunately lead to a loss of 214 jobs. The closing will commence in the start of August and all eighteen stores in Ontario, five in British Columbia and one in Nova Scotia will close.

The company said that they decided to close FedEx office stores across Canada “...after thoughtful evaluations of our business operations and considerations about our future.”1

However, it is important to emphasize that the closing of FedEx’s retail stores will not affect FedEx’s shipping business in Canada.
